India is a developing country and the way psychologically it is climbing up the staircase leading to modernization similarly practically as well as technically people and goods are moving to and fro in a skyscraper using elevators; the scenario displaying a significant progress in the process of modernization with the acceptance of new technology.The life of people has become much easier due to new technologies which have made it possible for us to avail services mostly at the press of a button. Food/ dumbwaiter elevators are meant to carry objects rather than human beings. Car lifts are used to park vehicles inside a building or in underground parking spaces and is often found in almost all developed cities of the Nation. Freight elevators are used in high traffic areas to carry people as well as goods; these are meant to carry heavy loads and are usually installed in factories, warehouses, shopping centers, etc. The stretcher elevators are found in hospitals which can carry a stretcher from one level to another without causing any harm or pain to the patient in the process of transferring the patient from one level to another. The panoramic elevators provide a visual pleasure to the people it carries as it has
glass wall and is installed in shopping centers, hotels, restaurants and entertainment centers. The hydraulic lifts are less energy efficient because the pump works against gravity to push passengers upwards. These are generally used in the amendment process of buildings. The passenger elevators are further sub categorized as 1st, 2nd and 3rd class passenger lifts. The 1st class comprises of lifts which can carry weight up to maximum 1000 kilograms. The 2nd class elevators are used as a city transport along with funiculars and in the 3rd class speed as well as comfort are important and so technical specifications along with decorations are provided.
